Oh man that IV sedation was the bomb..but it's worn off now..

Novacaine was nice too...

Now it's really hurting

:(

I took some swelling meds and some pain killer, but the gauze is just a pain to have in the mouth..gotta change it every 10-30 mins...

Hawk,

The pain pills will take a bit of time to work. Don't be afraid to double up on them with the Dentist's permission at first until they get it under control.

Been there and it ain't no fun. Hope it gets better soon.

Be glad you had it done when you were young.  It get's much worse as you get older.  In a week, you'll barely notice it.

I had mine out when I was 16.  So did my brother.   We both recovered completely in a few days.  My dad had his out when he was 48... it took him out for a couple of weeks just because of the pain and swelling.  It was about a month before he was back to normal.

Hang in there. Had mine removed in Boot Camp, novacaine only. They did give me a large bottle of codine pills and told me to take them "as needed". Almost got in trouble when I staggered thru a basic First Aid test stoned out of my mind. I wasn't trying to get messed up, just the ol' "if 1 is good 3 should really work" theory. Luckily, I got to retake the test the next day sans codine.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Slim Fast shakes are your friend.  I lived on those for a week or so after my teeth came out.

Although if you drink 5 or 6 a day you don't actually lose any weight.  :)

Wow, what a coincidence.  I just had both lower wisdom teeth removed friday.  Local only, I don't get put under unless I have to.
Ice for a couple hours after I got home, a couple of Vicadin's during the day.  Only needed tylenol since then.  :D
No swelling, less pain than a headache.  I don't see what the big deal is...wuss.  hehe

Just messin' with ya man.  Just take it easy, and don't eat them corn nuts!

Cheers,
Spitter

Dont use a STRAW!  Unless of course you welcome the idea of a dry socket.

Took about 14 days for me to feel completly normal again.
