Actually that is one of the famous +Nomad P-38 Lightnings.  From the way it landed it looks like it was flown by Delirium.  If it was flown by Slack or Silat there wouldn't have been much left of the plane.  Another clue that it's Delirium's P-38 is the name Elsie, which is the name of the his favorite ewe.

This is a picture that shows the results of a +Nomad formation landing.

Here's picture from another angle of the landing.

They were also used to transport non-wounded personel. One pilot after having to endure a 5 hour ride in one of those pods said that whoever was the bastard that designed those things should be forced to ride in one.

Altho most people remember Bob Hope's USO tours, comedian Joe E. Brown (the millionaire in "Some like it Hot") toured many front line Pacific bases by squeezing himself into the canopy behind the pilots seat in a P-38.

Actually that is not +Delirium's plane. +Delirium wouldnt have had his landing gear down. My memory is a bit foggy but, I believe it is +Rino's plane. You can tell by the damaged front gear. The weight of his big horn collapsed many a front gear. As far as the "Elsie" name goes, +Delirium had tired of Elsie many years before and passed her to +Rino as he was getting cranky from years of lonelyness.

Now this is actually a true story. This example of +Nomad stylistic augering is actually what happens when the lead pilot notices that +Rino is flying in a thong.
