V2 or V1?
« on: February 25, 2004, 10:33:58 AM »
How about adding the V2 and/or V1 rocket at the big/major airfields.. say for around 150/200 bomber perk points.. use the normal bomber view keys during flight.. think it might look cool when it peaks at the edge of space and on it way down to the target (I'm use the that view btw)..It would be another way of using bomber points too...Just think of the look when their base or town is 25-50% down and in flames, but no aircraft is in sight or on dar..  :rofl

not too sure about having the V2. ( i could see several cons too it)

But, The V1 would be kinda fun to chase down :)

It's not possible to use V1's and V2's as accurate tactical weapons.  They had primitive analog electrical guidance systems that let them be accurate to within several miles radius (ie, if you were aiming at London you could be fairly sure that they would hit somewhere in or near the city).

They were exclusively terror weapons that had little to no effect on military targets.  It would be pretty silly to have them flyable.  If they were in the game they'd be little more than a minor novelty.

V1 or V2 shouldn't be a tac killer.. However, you should be able to hit the city or field vcnty.. the guidness system would be like the ship guns.. Fire the rocket and forget it.. or use the veiw keys to watch and ride with it..  "That's the fun factor". It could be used for  HQ, flak (etc) or base/city attack.. It will not be a sure hit dead center of city.. but just around it (i.e 25% chance dead center, 50% edge of city, 25% outside of city w/limited bld kills).  It would also provide another way of using bomber perk points.  I think the view would be outstanding.. with the V2..:aok

Yep, V1's 2's weren't controlable.

Just set it's target and it would cruise to it. Planes could shoot them down (V1) or give it a little push with the wing.
The Germans knew that and installed triggers at it's hull so when anything would touch it....*poof :)

So what. I just sit and launch V2's . Who cares what they hit. But they did  seem to hit from time to time anyway.

I remember this idea was brought up a while ago. I actually even suggested it myself in a thread I started. Problem then was that AH did not have enough strategic targets and assets to make a V1/2 a practical weapon system.

i wish that will change with AH2... Cities, factorys etc should be 9 squares or at least change something... they are far to small at the moment
