Excellent question to ask if you're pretending to be a musician / bass fan.  Or was that bass as in fish you were talking about?

Eventually, you'll convince someone you're who you are pretending to be right now.  My money says it will be you long before it's anyone else.

WAIT JUST A MINUTE!!!!!!!!

There is nothing close to a Les Paul that isn't a Les Paul!!!  The epephones are 'ok' but they are NOT Les Pauls!!!!!!!!!

Dude you're looking at $1500 to $3000 depending on what year you get.  Anybody looked at new prices?  I haven't in years, not on Les Paul's anyway.  I'm a strat man myself, but I love that thick sound of a Gibson too!  Damn heavy guitars though....

LOL...I sold it a few months ago for $4,000 to a guy here in Daytona that plays in a raggae band ( Bob Marley stuff) I turned it down once but he kept calling. He sure makes it sound better than I did. He's at the Ocean Deck on Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach.
He said that the older Fenders are far better than the new ones. Never said why.

ok you said Gretch, sorry here comes a story.....

When I was 21 I went into Job Corps (stupid goverment run waste of money) I learned "accounting" LOL :rofl  anyway, they had a music hall and had this old hippy dude that taught guitar.  The head of the music department was Mr. Jones.  He was about 60 years old, African American and HATED me because I wanted to play more than one instrument. He thought it was a waste of time to learn more than one.  Well this is when I switched from bass to guitar and I used the musica hall to learn what little theory I know.

We had a little jazz/rock band and used to play gigs around job corps and in San Marcos (worst gig of my life!) Well after about 10 months of being in Job Corps our drummer finally convinced me that I could handle a hit of acid in that place on a Friday night.  So we dropped a tab. Well it turned out that Rob could get some REALLY GOOD LSD and we were TRIPPIN!! So we cruised down to the musica hall to jam out.  The equipment we had there sucked beyond belief, except for the ampeg amp that thing was kick ass.  So we're jammin a bit but the guitar I was playing on sucked so I couldn't keep it in tune and it just had a bad sound all around.

In comes Mr. Jones and asks if I'd like to play on his guitar for a while.  I tripped out because Mr. Jones had a Gretch (don't remember the year but it was old and in PERFECT condition)  OMG I've never played as well as I did that night.  Our bass player was a sober dude and finally asked why me and Robert were jamming so much better than we normally did. LOL I couldn't understand what he was saying, Robert had to translate for me all I saw was little music notes everywhere :D   We actually had a crowd that night of about 30 kids (mostly black because we were jammin on a lot of blues and they really do dig that stuff)

Finally the payment came.  It came in the form of Mr. Jones stopping our jam session and telling me that I had to learn a song that we were going to perform at the next graduation.  The song was "The Way We Were"   All fine and dandy except for the LSD part!  I went in to his office and he gave me the sheet music.  Problem was that the notes wouldn't stay still on the page, they kept melting down to the bottom of the paper and I couldn't read one measure of music.  God that sucked!  and he's sitting there asking me what's the matter.  Finally I told him I had lost my contacts.  Good thing he didn't know I don't need them :D
