Even though I like to see the carriers finally makeing a "belated" apperance I am afraid I find myself in agreeance with the mob.

Think it would have been better to add the FM-2 or Hellcat.

As yet another Allied pilot that was quite happy with the 38, I vote that the planeset be returned to its original setup.  No need to add a spit to "balance" anything, and even if there was a need it certainly wouldn't be worth the complaining.

But we see this 'catering' to the whiners and we leave.  It's bad enough the CT team rarely includes a P-38 in the plane set and then they pull this stunt.  Bad form.

I cant beleive this either.

The P-38L is an absolutely great fighter, it needs NO help.

Stop TBing like a bunch of MA n00bs and learn to fly it for cripes sakes.

Rgr that, the 38 rocks and whimping out when there is finally a chance to feature it is poor form indeed gents.

If anything, a mixed bag setup of Ki-61 and Zeke 5 vs The FM2 and 38 makes more sense.  That way both sides have planes that can turn and burn.

Well i guess the decision to add the Seafire is universally condemmed, and quite rightly too i might add, I think the majority of CT regulars will leave it in the hanger.

Just to make it clear.....

WE DONT NEED NO SEAFIRE!!

Here's a hint...if you can out turn a Ki-61 or a N1K2 in a P-38, you're not a MA n00b.  There's far more to the P-38 than just BnZ or other E fighting tactics.

Guys who use flaps and rudders and control tehir throttles seem to eat up teh jap planes in turn fights, especially those who now how to maneuver within a certain height above the turn raidus, know what I mean?

It has nothing to do with having the flaps mapped to a stick or a throttle.  That just a convenience factor and doesn't give one the edge.  It's knowing when to use the flaps, in conjuction to the throttle and rudders that is the key, not how you have them mapped.

I dont think Sakai meant you have to have them mapped a certain way, I think he is saying the same thing as you, those that *use* their flaps, rudder, and the throttle properly in the Pee-terd-he-ate tend to kill the enemy quickly.

My mistake, read his post wrong and got the impression he was talking about them being mapped to the stick.  Sorry Sakai

Reet.  Just that with some of our setups, guys yank and bank at full throttle and piss all out whereas with a few planes, close attention to yer bird is hyper critical.  The P-38 is so intriguing I may just dedicate some time in teh MA in it.

In the Pacific, pilots talked about "slip turning" in the 38.  You know?
