Do you cry at the movies?

At the end of Spartacus, where Varinia (Jean Simmons) is showing her son to Spartacus (Kirk Douglas) while he's being crucified.

That one always gets me.

I haven't cried at a movie since I was like 12 at "On Golden Pond".  There's been a bunch that made me well up. The end of SPR when he asks his wife if he's led a good life makes me well up.

Quite often, the end of "The Joy Luck Club" especially.  And what pisses me off is that I know I'm being played with, and having exact reaction to contrived movies that they want me to have.

In Schindler's List when little girl's red coat is seen in a pile, that along with the amazing score by John Williams really brings on a sense of horror at mankind and sympathy.

The scene that always gets me, even though I've seen the film at least twenty times, is the scene in "Saving Private Ryan" where the mother of the Ryan's sees the army car driving up the driveway, and when she gets to the front steps, she realizes what that means, and just collapses on the front steps. No matter how many times I've seen it, it never fails to make me cry.

Another scene, in the same film, is at the very beginning, with the old vet collapsing in front of the grave of his comrade.

And how many here can say they're ever watched the end of "Brian's Song" without being completely overwhelmed?

Which scene(s) makes you cry without fail?

Me also when it comes to the emotion thing.
Not man enough to allow myself to let the floodgates open......
Yeah find myself holding back at SPR and Brian's Song (the orig one) also. Add the scene in Field of Dreams when Kevin Costner's character finds his father (when his father was still young and strong) and asks to play a game of catch.

I always remember one movie theatre in Springfield,IL which always had sad movies. Being a redneck town, the guys watching the movies didn't want to be embarrassed by people seeing them cry, so the theatre provided single person viewing lounges so that people could watch the movie alone. They even provided a box of tissues on a table in front of the chair.

Oh wait, it was a porno movie theatre.
Never mind.
