Could v1.05 be "Naval Heaven"?
« on: August 25, 2000, 07:58:00 AM »
Since we all know that v1.04 will be out in two weeks(tm), let's look ahead while our Lancasters are being filled up with fuel and loaded with bombs.

I personally think that 1.05 will be when AH's "ship comes in", literally. Looking into the old crystal ball, I see....

CV's
Destroyers
Transports
F6f-5 Hellcat
SBD-5 Dauntless(I can dream, can't I?)
TBF Avenger
Supermarine Seafire MKII
Kawanishi "Emily" flying Boat
Late war Japanese dive bomber(Judy?)
Late war Japanese torpedo bomber(Jill?)
Ki-84(ok, ok, I know it's an army plane, but it would sure be fun to shoot Hellcats down in this!)

Please HTC, tell us that I can expect to catch the three wire before next year!

The emily was never used in large scale, it would be rediculous to have as it would be worthless for historical scenarios.

The Betty would be a more logical choice.

It might be fun to start the PAC out with early war planes.  This would be a real change of pace from the MA, and would give fans of Japanese planes an (historic) advantage.

The only problem is that we already have two late war PAC planes.

Nath, I agree about the Betty, but the Emily could be used for bombing and torpedoing. And when you consider HTC's propensity for introducing planes that have never seen the light of day in other online sims, it may be a more interesting choice.

Maybe the Emily could be used for Troop transport and pilot rescue as well.

I'm with you in the early war boat, Popeye, you know that. But, alas, I think early war is not going to come to AH for a couple of years. Might as well enjoy late war while it's the only era in town.

Flying boats would be great though - maybe a PBY or a Duck in addition to the Japanese boats.

That would be a coup - the first online sim with flying boats.

Last night I had to bail and a guy was driving by in an M-16. Would have been fun to get picked up. Sea rescues would be way cool with flying boats.

Yeah. It would be cool to get picked up. Then you could grab the gunner position.

Throw in the PBY-5 Catalina. Was armed with 3 single 50 cals (1 in a nose turret, the other 2 in the blister windows in the back) it could also carry 4 250 pounders. The greatest thing about the PBY5 is it had ON BORAD RADAR!!!!!!

Can't stand the suspense, early war, late war I'll just be glad to get over the big blue.
Imagine off loading a tank to battle its way inland, or torpeado runs with obscure pac planes, or ship or sub hunting in the PBY, I am ready for 1.04 to get here and out of the way.
On a side note I was a marine with 1/9 and 1st Recon battalion from 89-94, am a veteran and spent some time in the Pacific ( Hawaii, Iwo-Jima, Subic Bay, Hong-Kong, Singapore, a dozen desert toejam holes and some places I can't spell very well, but I love that part of the world and can't get the memories out of my head infact I can still smell the ocean and have sand in the cargo pockets of some of my stuff, I have some decent pictures I can try and post to get everyone in the mood if that will help.
Just wanted you all to know why I liked the Pac so much, why I chose the call sign Pappy years ago on AW and why I can't wait for 1.05.

LOL!

Well "navalization" of AH sure would be fun (I loved those Midway events in WB's HA), but let's not get our hopes up too much. Wild speculation always leads to disappointment.

I dream to sunk a destroyer with  torpedo launched by my SM79 SPARVIERO

May be some day we can do that!
