I want a REAL tank
« on: March 04, 2004, 06:49:46 AM »
Anyone know where i can get a hold of a real russian T55, T62, T64 or T72 tank ?

NO...not ebay (ive checked).

Not kidding, im looking for a real one. :)

Does not have to be in mint condition or have a working gun,

There where made ALOT of these tanks and there should be somewhere to get hold of one when you can get fighterjets that works oon ebay.

There's a company in Britain that specialises in this sort of thing. Probably just British stuff though.

What the heck would you do with it?  Park it in the front yard as a lawn ornament?  Just kidding.

You work for a museum Nilsen?

Apparently, someone used to come to work in one where I'm currently located. It wasn't an MBT or anything - just a troop carrier.

We are 6 guys with some time to spare and an old barn with plenty of room :)

Fixing up a T55/62/64 could be fun.

there was this pub we went to when i was a kid, they had a Chieftan tank in the garden, this was when they were still in service and being replaced by Challenger tanks.  Apparently he got a Westland Lynx too.

hows this?

http://www.milweb.net/dealers/categories/armour.html

and from http://www.britishmilitaryvehicles.co.uk/

'For disposal   T62, less turret, Running driving and stopping.
With a mock up turret would make a good tank 'driving experience' vehicle'
