The first thing you must do before starting to create the terrain is to go under "File" then "New (might be Create..I am at home and do not have it on my home machine)" and create the terrain file.

Is it possible to edit already existing MA maps?

And if they were edited/improved would HTC consider them for use?

If changes were made that would help to quell some of the moaning and groaning on all sides. Why not?

Cause it's not your IP?

How the hell should I know?
I'm just guessing and I don't know how much copyright law applies to terrains.

Wait for the official word.

Get a deck chair, beer, a snack, and a playboy; you could be waiting awhile.

DREDIOCK:
My SWAG on the reasons:
1 - Chasing whiners is about as foolish a plan as I've heard. You can't please everyone and whiners like to whine. They'll just find new reasons to whine;
2 - I can't imagine someone being at all pleased about spending 100 hours or so building a terrain for AH just to have HTC give it away to someone else to change things around on it. This would be a great way for HTC to kill off the terrain building community in the game; and,
3 - Even if HT disagrees with my first two reasons, anyone claiming they can take someone else's work and make it "better", without first having put the effort into proving they have the talent and skills to do it by building a universally popular terrain, isn't exactly building anyone else's confidence in their abilities to get the job done properly.

Here's an idea:
Build a terrain you like and submit it to HTC. If you do it well and HT accepts your work, you'll have a terrain you like to play on.

Cheers,

Is there any documentation for the terrain editor?
I cant find any
A tutorial to get ya started would be helpful also.
So far the only thing I have managed to do is get a CDT Even after opening a "New" file

1- Not trying to simply chase whiners but to make obviously needed improvements that I strongly doubt ANYONE would object to.

2- LOL I'll bite my tongue on this one. you wouldnt like the reply. Other then to say Im not talking about wholesale changes here. just some tweaking. A good example of this is a GV spawn point that places you in the middle of the ocean and even if a LTV is spawned iot takes over an hour to get anywhere

3- if humanity followed that line of thought we'd still be striking stone against flint to make fires. All humanity has evolved because of somene taking someone elses good idea, improving on it and making it better.
