Skuzzy and anyone else!
I'm on my second joystick in a month, the first was a Saiteck, which developed a problem after three days of use. It would not calibrate in AH. It calibrated fine in Windows, but then consistantly got jinky while in AH. Needless to say I returned it and got a Logitech Model (see message title). After 3 weeks of seemless play (which was great) yesterday, it too went out of calibration, and it is deja vu all over again. It calibrates fine in Windows, but then uncalibrates itself while in the game.

I say Killnu's early post about his problems with static(?), tried to unplug and restart. That worked for all of 5 minutes, then back to the uncalibration mode.

Specifically, almost everything works fine, hat, throttle, pitch, and buttons = OK, BUT Roll is consistantly the problem, it the right roll cuts out and is limited to about 30%, while left roll is perfect.

My op system is Windows XP. Don't know if anyone else is having these issues, but would love to know if its the stick, the operating system (incompatability), or some other gremlin that someone out there has come across. As always, thanks for you advice in advance.

Just saw your post after adding mine "Low alt game control freeze".

I am also using a logtech. Mine also un-calibrates (i manually calibrate in AH using Setup prior to my first flight every session). Otherwise auto take-off and auto pilot won't stay engaged as the controller randomly sends in signals (though manual flight is fine).

Finally, my freeze issue usually happens while in a low alt right roll (at which point all axis x,y,z don't work). Many augers and sitting duck easy kills which takes a bit of fun from the game away.

Noticed your symptoms previously, but only started happening this extreem for me this weekend.

I have the auto pilot situation as well, always after calibrating, the auto take off does not work, then the auto level always goes off and and I pitch (ironically) to the right. I raised the question while in flight yesterday and, unfortuately, the response was "Logitech sticks xxxxx" (you know what I mean). Almost everyone suggested a CH stick (I'll have to go the web to find this), or Saitec (as my original post noted, this problem was worse with the Saitec).

So, I guess we'll have to wait and see what others say/suggest

Until then I'm grounded.

I have the same problem with my saitek cyborg force, it will even loose its center line in flight sometimes. I added a switch to turn off feedback during severe buffiting and that helped some but I sure do miss my MS force 2 which died when I spilled a cup of coffee in it. The MS stick never had to be calibrated , not even the 1st time in windows, it was always centered and would disenguage when you took your hand off. Too bad they stoped making them. I also had a bad expereance with a logitech wingman, worked perfect for about a month then started loosing all control after about 30 minutes.

I feel your pain! This is fustrating. I have a really basic microsoft stick that works great, but there is no hat (essential for AH/flight sims) and only a few buttons. I'm going to check out CH sticks (what is CH short for?) and see what I can find. I'll post results when I have them.

If I remember correctly, CH makes the "Thrustmaster" brand. I think I had one a few years ago when I played AOE and USN Fighters.

You can get them at any Best Buy. If I continue to have problems I will give that a whirl.
