"Normandy Breakout" Frame 1 Results
« on: March 07, 2004, 05:54:19 PM »
Scored as an Allied victory. The LW fought a very hard frame, and should be commended on the strikes getting through the Allied air umbrella. They also did very well air to air. The Allies also fought hard and put a lot of ordnance on Rommels forces, which tipped the balance.

The fighting in Normandy continues as both sides seek to gain an advantage...

LW:  56 planes lost to all causes except discos     560 pts: Allied

V140, V147 : completely destroyed    400 pts: Allied

A88, everything destroyed except VH:  195 pts: Allied and 5 pts Axis.

***************************************************

Allied:  54 planes lost to all causes except discos.

19 P38s lost ( multi engine = 15 pts each ) 285 pts: Axis

5 A20s lost ( mult engine = 15 pts each ) 65 pts: Axis

leaving 30 single engine planes lost:   300 pts: Axis

V137: completely destroyed  200 pts: Axis

A70:  all strats destroyed.  no hangars destroyed: 120 pts Axis and 80 pts Allied.

Great job LW. What this post doesnt reflect isthe overwhelming numbers the Luftwaffe faced in this frame. Thank you for carrying out my plan to a tee. In my eyes, this frame was an Axis success. HORRIDO!!!!!!!

Is there an explanation as to why the Axis numbers were so low?   to the LW for doing what they did with those numbers.  It isn't as much fun for either side when there is a serious numbers deficiency.  In this setup I think the Axis need to have a slight advantage.  Is there a way to balance the numbers a little?

My squad has always put out good numbers, but every squad will have a day that many can't make it. Usually we have 18 to 22 pilots. Last Friday we had 12. :(

As an Admin CM I always favor the Axis sides by 10 to 20 pilots which helps.

The only real way to balance it is to insist that sqauds support the event with the #s they committed too. That being said, there can always be problems that come up, as long as we all try to make it work. There were 2 squads that did not show for frame 1 as well.

The AirRaiders were no-shows because we were axis and didnt recieve any orders, when i requested orders i wz sent allied orders, lol so time ran out and already forwarded those to my squad not really looking at them 1st,,so if you want my AirRaiders flying for axis,i must get the orders.  .Sawman C/O

A70 was an axis target btw, there seemed to be some glitch in the info train, probably my fault.
