The new P-47 is the kindest gift from HTC.
Lots of people who have no idea how to fly the jug fly it,because it`s new ,and they`re just so easy to kill.
I tried it in DA,and it handles very well IMO.I just won`t use it,since I`m a luftwobble....

I give it a wide berth down low in co-E, under 10k or so. Above that, I eat it alive, any day.

IMHO there are but 2 kinds of Jugs.

A: High ones, these are a real threat & get my full attention!

B: Low ones, these are lunch, are tasty, crunchy, & satisfying. So I'm always looking for them.

Why Darling, what are you flying?  It must be the limitations of whatever you fly, since it's not the Jug that works that way.

The Jug works better, the higher it goes.  At over 20k it's a very sweet ride.  In fact, under 10k is where the Jug is most vulnerable.  As the altitude climbs, the Jug goes from a fair to middling performer versus the others at low alts, to one of the best in the nose-bleeds.  Unless you are flying a Ta152, I'd rather meet you higher than lower any day.

Lephturn: I fly the Pony (check the sig card   )

Frenchy and Lepht:
I often meet P47s at my altitude around 25k. I seldom worry about them. I've learned on the other hand that the D11 can be hard to deal with at low altitude. Don't know why, since I haven't flown it much (just a few flights offline). I don't see what I said to crack you up, Frenchy, since I don't see any points I made about the P-47's abilities, only my experience in my own plane (the p51) versus this plane.

I hate stats, but here they are:
P47-D25
Kills of: 4 Deaths by: 0
P47-D30
Kills of: 12 Deaths by: 0
P47-D11
Kills of: 6 Deaths by: 3

So respect to the D11.

Guys..All models of the P-47 in AH are inferior to other AC. Dont even give them a second thought when you see them in the arena. Just go about your merry way. You see we jug people, as I refer to us nuts, just fly it for the nostalgia. So be kind to us too, let us have a kill ever so often. It builds our self esteem.

TY very much folks! and a hardy <S>

Erm... yeah I don't know why we put up with it.  Especially that new slow-ass D11.

Hey Darling... the Pony is all over the Jug at pretty much any altitude.  In order for the Jug's high altitude performance to really kick in vs. a Pony, you have to work around it's high-alt supercharger gear.  That means I'm a better match for a Pony either at 15k, or 30k.  At 25 K the Pony peaks in her high charger gear and starts to drop off.

The funniest part is the posts about the "new" ammo loadout........3400 rounds is available, or was last time I checked, on ALL the Jugs........ !
And I don't worry 'bout the 'Stangs up high, at least not one on one........problem is, you seldom find one doing any lone wolf flying.......just like real 'Stangs, they only move around in herds.
