$300 more for a name? No thanks. I'll take "Licensed to manufacture identical pistol" without the "name" ;)

You only live once. I have always wanted a Beretta and it will be the first pistol I buy. :) Now thats more of an emotional thing I guess as practically the Taurus is more sensible due to lower cost.

It will do if you can't have anything else.  If I owned one I would be looking to trade it to someone who used words like "rulz".

Beretta's are garbage.  More Stovepipes and FTF than any pistol I have fired.

I own the "Cadillac of Handguns" the Heckler & Koch USP .45

cool mash... let's take your caddy out and shoot it at 200 yards with my antique 44.   At 25 too if you like... if you feel I should have to use a .45 then I will switch to my Kimber eclipse custom.

While I would take my Colt Gov't Model any day of the week, the true Caddy of semi-auto's is the Hi-Power.  It may not be the fastest or most powerful, but very few "ride" better than it does.

You would take a colt over a kimber?  Can't figure that one out...

browning hi power..  big, heavy for the caliber... useless double action...  not exceptionaly accurate.  John Browning design tho.   That is good enough.   The hi power in .40 ain't too bad.   It would do in a pinch.

Lasz,

It might help to know that the Colt I'm thinking of is my Series 70 that has been "smoothed up" by Jim Hoag.  It also sports an oversized safety and has had the grip safety tacked down.  I've had it for about 18 years now, so I've kinda gotten used to it  :)

When it comes time to replace it (*shudder* at the thought), I'll probably go with a Kimber.  Or perhaps a Springfield.

Lazs, i'll have to show ya some pics of a commercail 1911 I just picked up for my personal colection from our store. Its a nice honest gun, has not been shrecked with or changed. Mfg date is 1924, the gun is about 90%. I paid 900 for it.

Also just took in but I haven't boughten yet, a gov't Issue 1911 mfg date 1918 with lots of goodies including original lanyard, 3 original mags, a 2 mag pouch. The guy wants 800 but will take 700 now. For that price I cant go wrong.
