I'd still like to see goons able to carry a Light armored vehicles like M8's M16's and M3s.

Surely it couldn't carry any of those?

Folks, keep in mind the C-47 is in reality a DC-3 commercial airliner adapted for military use. I do believe the largest thing that would fit through the cargo doors is a jeep. And, even that was a trying experience.

It was mostly used for troop transport, and parts delivery. With a 31,000 lb loaded capacity, and a 17,000 lb emtpy weight it really wouldn't carry all that much.

An M8 weighs 16,500 lbs. Making it to heavy to transport via C47.

Just make it deliver parts of a tank, takes 3 flights to bring in all flights, the setup time would be 5 hours :)

No.
And Im not sure if goons did but I know that some of the gliders during the Nomandy invasion carried some vehicles and light artilery peices.
Would seem to reason that a powered aircraft  would be able to carry vehicles Though a tank would be a bit much.

Hmmm......added Waco CG-4A Glider for C-47 and it would carry enough more troops, field supply, carry a jeep, and more! :D
