If Planes Had Theme Songs
« on: March 11, 2004, 03:25:59 PM »
So, if these planes had a theme song what would it be?

For some odd reason when I fly the Jug I cannot get "Number 13 Baby" by the Pixies out of my head.

From that same album (Doolittle) "Monkeys Going to Heaven" in the Lavochkin series--either one.  That is probably my all time favorite flying tune.

"Too Fat Polka" seems to fit the TBM.

"Ich Bin Ein Jager Mann" goes to the 190A8.

Elmer Fudd singing "Fire" when in the A6M2.

Am I weird?

What else you goobers got?

During my short lived LW phase a couple years ago I used to put on Rammstein, between that and the iron crosses on the wings made me feel good and agressive.  :)

Other than that about the only music I play when I'm flying is AC/DC.  But I usually leave it off because it makes some of the more subtle noises like the stall horn harder for me to hear.

I hear Pavarotti singing "Nessun Dorma" when I'm in a 202.

Until the neighbor's dog starts singing something else....

Ahhhhhhh . . . .

Mucho opera lends itself to flight time.  I like Beethovens Bagatelles as well to break up the typical mindless banter whenflying.

Me-163 for me its Elton John "Rocketman"
For the Corsair its funny that I use one of a few songs, Ride of the Valkiryes by Wagner, theme song to Black Sheep, the song thats in my signature "Tribute to the Greatest song in the world" by Tenacious D, Theme song to Baa Baa Black Sheep and Misty Mountain Hop by Led Zeppelin. Mainly Misty Mountain Hop or Ride of the Valkiryes though for everything.

The only planes that conjures up a song for me is the 190A's which would be "Supercharger Heaven" by White Zombie. Donno why really, I like the A's alot but they are not my favorites.

Carmina Burana O Fortuna (appropriatly written in 1930s Germany)

And of course most anything from Wagner.  Definitely Germanic music. :)
