Training Squadrons

...just a thought for AH2 Classic.

Each side could have a training squadron/s for the MA.

The CO of each squadron would be an HTC trainer.

A member (newbie) would only be allowed to be in the squad for 1-2 tours.  Disruptive players can be booted at any time.

Senior AH members that volunteer to help with training can jump in and out of the squad at any time and still retain affiliation with their regular squad.

Have regularly scheduled training.  Ie., Sundays = Basic familiarization with AH, Mondays = CV ops, Tuesdays = Strategic Bombing, Wednesday = Jabo, etc.  Post the training schedule here and in a squad MOTD.

Could be automatic.  Have a pop up, "Welcome to AH, you have been assigned to the Knights Training Squadron.  Your CO is TrainrBob.  Use Alt/ to type to your fellow squad mates.  Enjoy your stay.  Click ok to accept invitation to squad or cancel to be fodder for the masses."

Each training session in essence becomes a classroom.  All involved can speak to one another over squad channel and ask questions easily of the volunteers.  Working together they have a better chance of survival.  Gets 'em up to speed quicker and with less frustration.

Has potential.
I'd rather see it run on a player basis.

Trainers are all currently members of the
"AH Training Corp" for identification.
I'd hate to see them  lose that.

However the idea has merit and most new guys would benefit from haveing other guys to team up with.

Hmmmm maybe designated Trainer Corp Auxillarys.

Will be watching this thread with interest.

You could informally create it now in AH...All you need is one senior person who's not in a squad. I'd be happy to do it for knights. Let em in for 1 or 2 tours vs 1 or 2 hours. As they progress rotate em out in flights of 4 to "co-op" on missions with established squads. Then they can rotate out to squads they like. Probably have no problem having established squads chip in "duty officers" to help run squad nights.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I'd be glad to act as point man to send people in the right direction.

I've ran into some folks who have issues with even the most basic of maneuvers.  It'd be nice to have section to upload or specific forum for film based training videos.  It could have a subject area for basic, intermediate and advanced film files.

By doing this you wouldn't have to completely rely on any one person or persons to always be there.  Prior to an individual seeking more help they could view and study the films then go to a trainer for fine tuning of each maneuver.  You wouldn't want to rely solely on the films because what it looks like and how they actually do it may be confusing for some.

Basically it'd be a forum area specifically for this and this only.  You wouldn't have to search through thousands of threads to find the answers your looking for when it comes to ACM.  Each maneuver would have a sticky post to keep it at the top of the list.  You could even do it for different aspects of the game such as heavy bombers, fighter bombers, and torpedo runs.

You would have one subject area specifically for the stickys and another individual areas for each maneuver and the ability for everyone to post and ask questions.  You could also add in there the tactical doctrines and formations for folks to learn.  Granted I know alot of sites online have them but this would be a centralized location for all information needed.  And I know for some stuff you can't find it unless you go buy a bunch of books on the subject.  Just a thought.

this is a great idea for many reason
i would have like this when i first started play
flying together is much better than learning on your own and the people you meet in your trianing squad will most likely always be some one you can relay during the game thoughout each others stay with the game

and you will probaly find these same guys forming there own squads with the others they have flown with in the training

my only question is this with all the different time zones it would be kind of hard for trainer and newbies to get together at specific times so would there be a couple of time slots for this?

I ask this becuase when i went looking for a trianer i ended up going through 3 different people until i found an east coast trainer with a similiar free time as myself
