I don't know why people keep looking for "the next SRV." There ain't gonna be one. Just like there will never be another Albert King, Freddie King or Jimi Hendrix. Blues artists have to stand on their own two feet and not rely on being just like the last guy to make it. Being able to nail the Stevie tone and his licks don't impress me. Take what the others have done before you and put your own spin on it, be original!!! If someone is listed as the next SRV that immediately turns me off.
That being said, I can't say I cared for the guitarist's style that much. It seemed to be a flurry of notes without much passion or feeling, which is what the blues is all about. He needs to say half of what he's trying to with the guitar and actually mean what's coming out.
