The thread about M1/Enfield/Kar 98 is getting a little bloated so....

Today, the rarest of rare of the 98's are the German Sniper rifles. An original matching numbers one will fetch near 6000 dollars today.

Are you serious about the price?

My uncle has a Kar 98, it's not fitted out as a sniper version, just the standard infantry version. Would be interested in knowing what it's worth.

I'll try and get a few pictures next time I see him.

200 - 250 bucks usually.  Unless there's something special about it.

Dont know how I just found this but unless its an actual sniper rifle you can expect a K98 (standard) to bring about 200-300 bucks on the norm. There are many versions of the K98.

They even made a mountian carbine with a steal reinforced butt stock to use as a walking stick. The stock was reinforced with plate steal so it would not crack.

A real authentic Turret Sniper rifle. Forget it... You wont touch one for under 5 grand... If you do its not the real thing and has been made up.
