HiTech - www real time map

I've thought of this for a while...

Could you extract the map and sectors data to make it availeable on a www enabled port? This would allow to have a web based map with the dar bars displayed for each sector.
Make it an update every 60 seconds would lighten the server load.

What do you think? I could easily build that on a php site. Let me know.

Heya, Saw...

Are you suggesting something like this?  :)  Or, are we talkin' about 2 different things?  Just curious...

Had considered it years ago, including streaming video of current flight acction. Doubt it would be worth the time.

It also creates some security issuses on what country you would see the state as.

Use the userid/password that we use to log in online, and show the map according to what country you are currently registered in and dont allow a country switch from the Web.

No real need to tell you ...

Finish off AH II first, then maybe you can get around to the "fluff and lace" stuff.

What about anonymous logins?

ie users who don't hold an account (or pretend not to) but just want to see what the game is all about.

not that its neede but if the idea was wanted to be implemented to show all contries in red and not show any aircraft carriers would eliminate any spy then play problems.
