cool pics.  I  first played  84-85. We had pistols only, fired a shot, then you had to recock.  Had those little co2 containers about the size of those little liquor bottles on commercial flights.

Thats a sheridan pump. I remember playing with that. I hated it.



Now that looks like a stock Bushmaster Si (top row middle). I really liked that gun.



I also owned a pistol splatmaster, CarterComp (anodized grey), and full automatic Tipman SMG-60 and much later an Autococker and Spider. The Carter comp was more accurate than the standard 14 inch Bushmaster Si but mine had a 20 inch barrel, honed to perfection .) I really liked my Bushmaster. I regret ever selling it. The SMGs werent allowed on many fields. Currently only have the Spider clone.

I remember talking to a guy at teh field one day and he was telling me a story of a pump day he was at, and this was back when the auto-cockers were first starting to appear and he managed to talk his way on to the field with his auto-cocker by arguing that technically it was a pump gun, just the gun manually pumped on it's own.  Somehow the refs bought his argument and let him loose on the rest of the people there for about 1-2 games before they pulled him out for all the carnage he was causing.

lol, you know what I mean. A stock Sheridan is difficult to cope with. Replacing the CO2 pellet is a pain because you have to unscrew the cap at the tip of the gun. At the end of the day, my twist fingers were blistered from all of the twisting. Im sure a modified sheridan is much more paintball combat ready, especially against auto trigger automag nitrogen paintball spraying rambos.

Thats where the Palmer guns shine. I am more accurate and have better range. My kills/shot ratio is to brag about.. I got to the point where I was jotting down my rounds used per hits/kills and doing silly spread sheets back when I was playing evey weekend. They can brag about all the xtra money put into their markers, I can brag about money saved.

I haven't played in years, but I had problems with my glasses fogging inside of my goggles (since had LASIK surgery).

Buy good thermal lenses, and you use to be able to buy a little fan that mounted on top of the goggles, powered by a AAA battery, which worked wonders.  Called Xwind? Or something like that.  Expensive but worth the cost, especially if you play in an area with high humidity.

I've never owned a pump gun, but have borrowed a friend's to try.. lots o' fun.  My first semi was a tippman '68 special.  I've owned 'cockers ever since.

I mentioned I had a splatmaster pistol. I carried that as a sidearm for a while. Always wanted the situation where Im out of amo or CO2 and have to pull it out to defend myself. That never happened.

However one goofy thing I have done is take a paintball and run up behind someone and splat them on the back with it, claiming a kill.

Longest kill I ever made was about 100 yards. Two kills to the head of two players using dove tail sites. Took three shots.
