Just a disclaimer: I mean no disrespect to the Spanish people here, and they have my deepest sympathies for the recent tragedy.

I'm just curious if anyone can notify me on any new legislation passed in Spain.  Throughout American history, acts of terrorism or international conflict are often followed up by legislation putting a hamper on some liberties (Sedition Acts, Alien Act, Patriot Act).  Does anyone know if any legislation like this is pending in Spain?

The sad thing is that you don't know. That's how they get away with it.

No...the sad part is you don't know. So you attempt snappy one liners.

No, in fact I do. Someone who would question what "liberties" were hampered by it has no clue, so my responce required exactly what I posted, nothing more. And I'm not going to argue with retards this morning, Im going to watch the race and have a cigar on the deck thank you very much. It's rather lovely outside today.

Carry on.

oh..geez so you have to let people go through your stuff at the airport..and prove who you are to do some things..and the other small stuff...I really don't feel like I've lost too much...life seems normal to me....contrary to what you guy's believe..the government isn't out to get you...right now if they have to intrude a bit to ensure that a bomb doesn't go off in my apartment complex or on a plane/train I am traveling on...then gee..i think I'll let them intrude. Really..as an average joe just working at your job and living your life...what "liberties" have you really lost? Besides true total freedom would mean anarchy..and there must be some kind of control.

Good Article..However if you are doing nothing wrong...then there is nothing to worry about...Seems to me that the people that cry about privacy the most ,have something to hide.:D

Oh please Mr. McCarthy, that fecal matter went out of vogue in the 50's.

Use the corollary: If you are doing nothing wrong, why should you be investigated? Why shouldn't your private dealings remain private?

The change of government that was just determined by the votes will undoubtedly affect the application of this law. As of now, we have noticed little or no change in our day-to-day lives.

CyranoAH, are you saying the terrorists attacks in Spain caused a change of govt?

this bods ill for the USA, al quida will think they can change a govt with terrorist attacks.

i think in late Oct al quida will attack the USA to try to get their anti-war friend john (JFK) kerry elected.
