It's the horrible degenerate son produced by a Plane and a Sub :)

And I don't remember the name but I've somewhere the same picture (and no I won't dig in my library ... it's too dangerous)

I think it's a russian design. I was half-joking about the sub. part I remember it was supposed to be both a plane and a sub.

Camo the answer please :)

Yes, it might be something Russian. I think there might be a red star on the submarine tower. :D Hard to tell from that pic...

But the engines and tail look a bit like those of a SM.79.

This idea of plane-sub was presented by Dzerzinki's Engineer School's cadet B.P Ushakov in 1934.

It was supposed to close its target by flying and then land on water when the prey could be seen in horizon. Then it would close the target submerged and fire its torpedoes.

Some theoretical specs:

Max. T/O weight: 15000kg
Cruise speed: 100-200km/h
Operating range: 800km
Ceiling: 2500m
Underwater speed: 3-4km/h
Max.depth: 45m
Powerplant: 3x AM-34

Thank you for the Brewster HTC!
