I walked by your place a couple of times but didn't pay too close attention. Didn't even think to look for the banner. My bad. It was pretty hairy down in that section - moreso than it was over in Green Park between 7 and 10. Was a good race though. I spent most of my time at Turn 3 (because of the shade), which wasn't as accident-prone as it was a couple of years ago - only 1 spin out and that was by the silver-and-orange Porsche GT that wasn't really pushing to win. The Audi UK and North American Audi LMP's took the turn without batting an eye. The 'vette just drove away from the other GTS's, so after the #4 DNfluffied it was a really a race to see if the Saleen could hang until to the 12th hour. When a GTS car finishes 4th overall, better than most of the LMP1 cars, you know Chevrolet has a talented team.
I pooped out with 5 hours to go, opting to watch the end on SPEED Channel when the wind picked up and cut right through my Speed Racer t-shirt. I had figured it'd be hotter than Thursday and Friday but the clouds and wind kept the temps down. Once the sun started to set I decided it wasn't worth the suffering. I was also anticipating the dinner buffet at Jacaranda but they were closed for a wedding reception. Bummer!
Kudos to the Dyson racing team for driving a car to the finish while it kept bursting into flames!

I was really hoping they'd have a shot at the podium. I saw their team hauler on Sunday morning as I was headed out of the Avon Park McDonald's on 27.
Scary moment when the Viper went UNDER the tire barrier at full speed. A Banana Joe's LMP 675 car did the something similar a couple of years ago in Turn 3 but the driver was able to use his brakes to cut a lot of his momentum. The Viper went in brake-less. The driver had to be crapping in his Nomex underwear that time.
I think the Speed World Challenge races are a lot of fun to watch. The FWD touring cars were taking Turn 10 on 3 wheels. I could tell because the right rear was frozen is space while the other three snugged the asphalt. The Green Air Filters Chevy was catching a lot of air in that corner and ended up spinning in Turn 3. After that, he toned down his aggression. I think he realized he had a dog of a car.
In the GT race, Andy Pilgrim did a heckuva job bringing the Cadillac from well back from the pack to finish 2nd in a 50-minute finish. That man is a driver!
