You Too Can be a "Friend"

Dear Friends,

Upon leaving office, President Clinton established the William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation with the dual missions of constructing and endowing the Clinton Presidential Center and Park on a 30 acre site along the Arkansas River in Little Rock, Arkansas; and continuing the work of his presidency to strengthen the capacity of people in the United States and throughout the world to meet the challenges of global interdependence.

Since that time, President Clinton has worked hard to develop programs that meet his mission focusing on economic empowerment, citizen service, health security, leadership development, and racial, ethnic, and religious reconciliation. I invite you to learn more about the Clinton Foundation's programs by visiting http://www.clintonpresidentialcenter.com/foundation_programs.html.

The Clinton Presidential Center will be the 12th Presidential Library in the United States. It will consist of a museum highlighting the achievements of his two terms in office, as well as the archives, which will house all of his official papers and other historical material related to the Clinton Administration. Together, these two facilities will serve as the principal resources of the accomplishments of the eight years of his presidency.

The Clinton Policy Center will be a public service research and educational facility, which will address current and future issues affecting national and international policy and public service. A separate component of the Clinton Policy Center will be the Clinton School of Public Service, which, in partnership with the University of Arkansas will offer a masters degree for individuals from around the country and the world interested in public service.

As we plan for the opening of the Center which is scheduled for November 18, 2004, we want to update you on this exciting project and make sure that you have an opportunity to be involved.

Therefore, I am inviting you to become a "Friend of the Clinton Presidential Center." Your support will enable visitors to take a high-tech journey through President Clinton's years in office using video, photographs, artifacts, memorabilia and interactive media stations. They will step into full-scale replicas of the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room. And through exhibits detailing life in the Clinton White House - including state events, holidays, and cultural celebrations - visitors to the Center will be transported from 1200 President Clinton Avenue to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

For $35, you will be sent a specially designed "Friends of the Clinton Presidential Center" membership card, personalized with your name, or you can receive a family membership for $50.

With your membership, you will receive a special invitation to the November opening of the Center and you will enjoy free admission there from November 18, 2004 through December 31, 2005.

Act now to find out more about being a "Friend of the Clinton Presidential Center," please visit http://www.clintonpresidentialcenter.com/Library_Member.html

Sincerely,

James Carville

P.S. I hope you're planning to join us in Little Rock for the Grand Opening on November 18, 2004. Be sure to visit http://www.arkansasglobecoming.com for travel, lodging, destination information and event updates.

For more information you can write the William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation at: 1200 President Clinton Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72201. We encourage you to visit http://www.clintonpresidentialcenter.com and keep in touch with us at info@clintonpresidentialcenter.com.

I have a few pennies and some pocket lint I would feel good about sending...

LOL, though I do not despise the man, and think he was an OK president, I would not deem him one of the greats nor ever even consider spending money on furthering his legacy.

The legacy of having one's **** sucked on the job, and ruining good cigars. :D

I can't find a 'source' for this, "but what the hell : We don't need no stinking SOURCES" at the O Club.

"LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – While Democrat presidential candidates complain that too many jobs are going overseas, the last Democrat to hold the office is having a Scottish firm build nearly $1 million worth of cabinets for his presidential library. The foundation building the $160 million Bill Clinton Presidential Library says limited choices forced it to look overseas for the specialized museum cases.

Skip Rutherford, the foundation's president, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he and others involved in the project had "worked hard to make sure that Arkansans and then Americans received the work."

Nonetheless, exhibit fabricators Maltbie Associates of Mount Laurel, N.J., subcontracted the manufacturing of 85 glass display cases to Netherfield Visuals of Dalkeith, Midlothian, Scotland. The contract was worth about $936,000.
