« on: March 18, 2004, 10:33:29 PM »
Yeah you dorkus. :p I booked a three night stay at the park in may for the whole flocking family uh five   :o :( , then three nights on the disney cruise. As much money as this is costing me I've informed my kids they better have a good time or I was gonna get thrawn to administer corporal punishment on them.
anybody got any pointers on fun family rides etc.? I've been to the cruise web sites but those guys can be a little fruity. even fruitier than you weirdos:lol. any pointers appreciated.

I have been to Disney World in Florida in 1989. It was pure fun. Especially the Epcot Centre. I think that even now I can have fun there. The "Magic Kingdom" park must be exellent for kids below 12 years old.

I was a 16 years old kid from USSR, and I don't know if American kids will enjoy it. I remember going to a special secret movie show with Disney's Mickey Mouse cartoons when I was 10 - the only opportunity to see them, and only because I had a friend who's parents were working at Mosfilm.

Hblair, we were in WDW last Dec.  If they offer a 3 day "Park Hopper Plus" thats the cheapest route to go if the park entrance passes are not already included in your package.

Animal Kingdom is the best for young kids all around, as well as Magic Kingdom.  Universal Studio's is a favorite of mine. If you want to have some water fun, include 1 day for one of the water parks like Blizzard Beach, or Typhoon Lagoon.

Be sure to spend one evening (no matter HOW sore your feet are) in Downtown Disney, and eat at their Rainforest Cafe, its the best of the chain.

Have fun!

Been to three of the Disney parks, and Disneyworld is, truly, a world apart.

The waterparks, downtown disney, magic kingdom, epcot center... animal kingdom was ok, but not impressive, and for me the worst of the lot is Disney/MGM, only so so.

What makes it different is that they own the whole thing, and it's as if you entered another country.

Plus, there are plenty of visits outside Disney worth seeing.

I went to disneyworld about 15 years ago.  The only advice I have if it still applies is get a tour guide book befor you go.  We bought this book that told the best time to get there and wich rides to ride and when.  It was a way to have alot shorter lines and maximize your experience.  I'm not sure if those are still hepfull today but its the best I got.  Enjoy!

GH, some things are just a little too much.

I never regretted I came back.

Hehe, some dude in school offered me $200 for my Comsomol pin :) I refused :) I think that now I'll refuse too :)

We looked strange in the Jesuit school where we studied: wearing our school uniforms (comfortable dark blue suits) and ties, and we had girls with us in a boys's only school :) The reaction of the Americans was "Look! they are just people like us!". Once I got into an accident when me, my host and some friends were robbed by some punks, and when someone said "look, he's a Russian and doesn't have much money with him" they just started to ask me questions about life in USSR :) The whole story of my life in the US is funny. I'll probably tell you some more later ;)

Another hint about "evil communist regime" for you: less then a year later I worked with classified defence information, and noone cared that I had contacts in the US.

Your kids will love it.  I went in the late 80's with my family and had a blast.  No "Disney Cruise" back then, but the parks itself are plenty.

Youll need a friggen month to do everything.  Epcot is great - educational and fun at the same time.

Oh, bring alot of cash.  ;)

Just be prepared to hear "When you wish upon a star" 1000 times a day.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

It's a small world after all! (tm) :D
