How do you all Make Tuna saland Sandwich
« on: March 21, 2004, 08:10:15 PM »
Does anyone have like a killer way of doing it?

I just put in lots of peper, mayo, salt, a touch of garlic salt. I used to mix in chopped white onions, but they are death for me now.

Slap it on white or sour dough bread with fresh letuce...

I have a good way of making tuna salad

Basic tuna salad: can of tuna, mayo, chopped celery.

But then you put that on bread with a couple strips of bacon, some lettuce, american cheese and mustard.  Final step is to toast it so the cheese is all melty.  Only way to eat tuna.  I brought this to work one day and my friends all thought I was weird until I made them try it.  Got several converts. :)

Mayo, chopped yellow onion, chopped dill pickle, finely chopped tomato. Spiced with pepper and tabasco. Like it served hot on rye with melted swiss.....yum....

Oh and don't forget the chips. For a sandwich like that, only Lay's original chips will do. Ok Wavy Lay's in pinch...

Toast thick bread, then spread the tuna salad (lots of celery, pepper and diced onion) on both slices, cover with american cheese and melt under the broiler.

Mine are pretty simple, but definately different in one major respect:  Red Onions.

They've got great flavor, and work nicely in tuna sammiches.

Tuna, Miracle Whip or Mayo (after years of having an opinion on the two, I've stopped caring), fresh cracked pepper, and sliced black olives.  If you have any big mediterranean deli olives, hold the black olives and slice these guys lengthwise and put on the sandwhich.

Finally, a slice of onion (for texture, chopped onion is already in the mix) and some kosher salt.  Make sure it's all on two toasted pieces of something respectable.

Tuna sandwich:
get a nice fresh (Ahi?) tuna steak or something, preferably straight from the sea.
---

Every office has some dude who always takes off 15 minutes before lunch starts.  When that dude leaves, go over there, set up a hibachi, and fire some coals.  Lighter fluid will probably raise eyebrows, so just use papers from the guy's inbox to spark the coals.

When coals are ready, throw steak on there.
Get some heavy bread buns.  Lightly dust with a garlic aioli.
Put tuna steak on there, a couple slices of pickled ginger, and maybe lettuce and tomato.  Enjoy.

Pickle juice is my secret, a nice splash of good dill juice in the mix saves a lot of time and gets the spices just right.

enjoy;)

Take out  a piece of herring shaped like tuna. Next, using the herring, cut down a tree. Using the tree for a bowl, stir in some lettuce and tomatoes. Then Using the rest of the tree carve some forks and knives. Finally invite some friends over for a picnic!

-Enjoy!

Tuna, Miracle Whip (there is NO substitute), Sweet Relish, Sweet Onion, Celery, Lemmon Pepper, Dill, splash of Pickle juice, dash of Guiden's Mustard, and a dash of Tabasco. When I was a kid my Mom used to add some diced apple to the mix. Simply delicious!
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.
