T-boned, hit and run

Wife was T-boned yesterday afternoon as she turned left into our platte.   A "meth'd up" driver tried to pass in a no-passing zone as she signaled to turn left and T-boned her, then split the scene. She is fine.  She was shook up because the passenger (A skinny 40'ish female who Laura said "I see this type in Harbor View in the ER all the time, whacked out on something…")  immediately approached her vehicle in a threatening manner, yelling at her, meanwhile her boyfriend turned their car around (White- mid-80's honda), then the women jumped back in their car and they sped off. Happened so quick that she didn't get a license number.  Kids were at home with me when the accident occurred.

Glad your wife was not injured.

Even though it is really maddening that such idiots are on the road and will probably get away with this, the fact she was not hurt is really all that matters.

They won't get away with it forever. It will catch up to them eventually, either legally, mentally, or physically, or a combination of all three.

The vehicle is still driveable.  Just leave it the way it is and buy that fishfinder!  Its your wife's problem; let her fix it.  Why should you suffer?  Just convince yourself that it'll teach her good defensive driving skills, like checking her 7 o'clock before spinning the wheel.

Another reason why I have a cheap disposable camera in my car.  Not only do I hope to catch some $1 million instant-retirement event on film, I can also take quick snaps of idiots like the above.

Mickey, same here, I carry a camera everywhere I travel.  We discussed the "Lessons Learned" and she had checked her mirrors about 7 seconds before turning, unfortunately the turn is just on the other side of a corner, and the high speed the Honda was traveling made the situation worse.  She said it happened so fast that there would not have been time for a camera, and the fact that she was still in the road blocking traffic, she had to consider her safety first. By the time she pulled up, the car was gone.  I told her that if should ever happen again, safety first (like she did)) then pull your car up and block the other car from leaving.

Looks like there's some red paint on her car.  Check the local bodyshops for red cars getting work on the front bumper.

I found that odd...she says the car was white...maybe this is a primer color of old hondas?(Beneath the white paint?)

Or it happened so quick that she got the color confused with the color of her own vehicle.

Buy that fishfinder and tell her next time she should pay more attention to the color of the car and the license plate number!

I hear that japanese engines don't stand up too well to a .50 AE right into the engine block...  Though sometimes you might need a second.
