Enraged Mexico Jails Rescued Anglo Tourists

The same Third World mess that encourages millions of its citizens to become illegal aliens in the U.S. is in an uproar that six British cavers dared to spend their vacation in Mexico.

 

day after divers rescued the brave Brits from a water-blocked cavern, Mexican officials jailed them at an immigration detention center and accused them of ... violating national sovereignty. That's something to think about for anyone thinking of visiting Cozumel or Baja.

Sen. Laura Alicia Garza grumbled Thursday that there had somehow been a "flagrant violation" of national sovereignty.

Question for Sen. Garza and for President Vicente Fox: When does Mexico plan to start respecting America's national sovereignty?

Is this too much or what? Mexico complaining about it's national  sovereignty? They demand illegal Mexican infiltrators that sneak into the US be given US rights, healthcare and citizenship yet jail 6 Brit's for vacationing in Mexico?

So they are in the military.....big deal. I don't see how that is considered a military operation in any way. What if you had a few marine buddies and wanted to go to Mexico and do this. Just because you are in the Marines does that make it a violation of Mexico's sovereignty?

We need to completely seal our borders and arrest anyone trying to sneak in. I'm tired of the doudle standard that Mexico is getting away with.

Are you suggesting England was invading Mexico with only six men? That is preposterous. The only country that could be conquered by six Brits is France. It would take at least a dozen Brits to conquer Mexico.

Mexico is very sensitive about it's caves. They are so sensitive about them, and this particular area, that they advertise around the world for "expert" cavers to travel to and explore there.

Poor Mexico, they have an illegal alien problem on their hands now

The British Military subsidizes various kinds of adventure holidays around the world for it's members. It's one of the attractions of being in the service (and there are few enough of them). I'm not sure how a caving holiday manages to be a military incursion but then I'm not a politician looking to drum up support.

So anyway to all you non-brits I recommend your government starts looking right now: there is probably an elite British invasion team climbing one of your mountains, rafting down one of your rivers or hangliding off your cliffs as we speak. World Domination will soon be ours!

Not at all, apparently there were there to conduct some training excercises, most likely in cave rescue.  The problem is that the British government didn't tell the Mexican government this and instead slipped these guys into the country as tourists.

What would the U.S. do if they caught a group of tourists that later were found out to be members of a foreign military that were there conducting military excercises?  Somehow I don't think we'd offer suggestions on other places they should visit.

wow, they "slipped" into Mexico as tourists...... I wonder how many millions of Mexicans have "slipped" into the US?


I wonder why the Mexican government didn't inform the US that armed soldiers would cross the Arizona boarder and fire at US border patrol agents? Mexican armed troops have invaded US land many times......maybe we should invade Mexico.
