Bill was in my bar tonight
« on: March 28, 2004, 07:20:21 AM »
(OK I don't own the bar but..............)

We were very busy on a Satruday night. Even busier than normal.  Another bartender came up joking that he was making a drink for Bill Gates.  He was joking at first then we realized he REALLY looked like Bill Gates.  Then we realized we did indeed have the richest man on the planet in our bar.  What was even funnier was the fact that our casino had the richest man in the world in house and he doesn't gamble.

was kinda cool

And why wasn't it poisoned???   ;)  :p  :lol

You could alsways tell him the antidote would be to get himself rebooted with a cardio stimulator plugged into 220 volts..... :lol

He didn't become the richest man in the world by gambling.  :)

It's a martini bar so he had a martini.

The tip was there.

What was cool was he was just another guy.  No bodybuards no Entourage or anything.

Couple of college kids saw him and were buying him drinks.  He didn't like the vodka- chartreuse martini.  That was funny.

I'm not the type to think if someone is loaded he has to tip a huge amount, only what is appropriate.

He did make his money gambling! He gambled by purchasing his first OS, then he bluffed and told people that it worked...
He may be the worlds best gambler...

When I was cookin at Froggy's, I saw Bill Cowher once, Mario Lemieux dozens of times. I was also personally thanked by Eric Dickerson for his meal, A seafood pasta with Scallops, Shrimp,  Clams and a vodka Sauce we had called Pasta Pompeii. He came over to the Kitchen Window and thanked all three of us, I was working Sautee

In my resturant you could see the whole bar from the kitchen, It was always funny to watch how regular people act when celebrities are present. It could be dead as hell, all of a sudden In walks 2001 Pitt Basketball team with coaches and the place goes crazy. Or how, People get people to take pictures of the Celebrities as they walk near or behind them.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Oh Im sure he had body guards you just did not see them.
They were probably on loose cover to allow him freedoms yet protection.
If someone had of taken a swing at him i bet you would have seen dudes coming out of the wood work.

Exactly how that works.

A friend saw Clint Eastwood once in a lively bar scene in LA once, back in the 80's.  He was about 50 feet away sitting alone with one other fellow chatting...my friend leans over to this stranger to his left and says "Hey, thats Clint, isn't it?" and the stranger looks at Steve and says, "Yep, sure is...but you don't want to bother him DO YOU?" and winked.  Steve says "Uhhh, no, I guess not".  When Eastwood left so did  4 other guys from different parts of the lounge right behind him.

Thats pretty cool Tapakeg! About the only people of fame I met in 6 years of bartending were sports stars, Baseball and Football.  Most notable was when Curt Warner (RB for Seahawks) and Mike Tice (TE for Seahawks) came in about 4 hours after a game. Curt didn't drink but had "virgin" margarita and Tice had 2 beers. That ate a bunch of appetizers at the bar.
