there is plenty to do downtown, like what was said before...avoid the hockey games!! if you go down the strip district (Penn Ave) go to Area 51 or BAR. as for the south side Marios has good food and Peg's Cafe is a cool place for beer and pool.

But if you do, bring your water bottle so you can squirt the players.  They love to be squirted.  They love it so much they'll climb right off the ice and come over to shake your hand and buy you a brat with onions.

BAR? Are you talking about Bar Southside?

I lived on the North Side and Lawrenceville, Hockey games are fun but baseball at PNC park is awesome! Its Cheap too.

My favorite thing to do after a long day in class was go to Milano's on 6th Street eat a Hot Pie and drink a couple of Pitchers of Iron with friends head to the Ball Park and Cuss the Pitcher until your voice craps out.

Pittsburgh is awesome, I would love to live there again although it wouldnt be where I mentioned above
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

BAR in the strip. the only place that i went to down in south side was mario's and peg's cafe. i grew up in mckeesport (south of Pgh). i havent seen a hockey game at the arena in years and the last time that i saw a baseball game was in 79 at 3 rivers

I know, but when your a poor college student, you buy what you can afford. I happen to like it out of a Bottle. I'd drink it any day over Yuengling.

Hehehe I saw a few games at 3 rivers before they imploded it.

Hopefully Martlet won't be talking Pittsburghese when he returns.:D

Order an IC Light....not bad Beer.

Dunno why they tore Forbes Field down....greatest place I've ever been to see a baseball game.

PNC park is great...it's a throwback sort of Park.

Used to go to Pirates games when Clemente patroled right field.

Saw some of the National League greats there such as Mays, Kofax etc. in the early to mid 60s'

Downtown has lots to do......ask any Cab driver...they'll take you to the great spots.
