point # 1 the arty work for the pilot after bail out has a rifle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(wonder where this is going to lead   )
point # 2 in real life pilots carried guns!! (think this was just to make them feel more manly   )
point # 3 IT'S A GAME(and a beta at that)what "WE" don't need is whining, snivelling, know it all's,genuine arnoldh#l!s who have nothing better to do then rant about anything, people who whine about being vulched, people who whine about being killed, people who whine about this and that being over/under modeled with out ever having flown if even seen one of these things in "real life".please get a grip!
post disclaimer:
this rant is not actualy aimed at any (one person/company/thing/species)it's merely a rant

Dogsta-

I have no beef with you, and sorry if this has offended you, or anyone else other than to whom it was directed. This was brought out in the open by others, and I felt it was therefore put forth for debate.

Some have sided one way, some on the other. No biggie. But it seems that anyone who complains about anything is a whiner. Well, if whining helps identify and stop cheating, so be it.

Maybe we're splitting hairs here. These guys don't want to see it as cheating (though I cannot fathom their justification). I do. Worse, they seem to take glee from upsetting others in the process. I don't care how anyone has fun, until that fun comes at my expense. Then I would like to have some control over how I get the shaft applied. If I had been there and I knew they were conducting one of their "tests" I would steer clear of the base. The originator of this thread obviously wasn't afforded that luxury, and now he's the whiner. You have it backwards.

Within the rebuttal one of these guys comments that they had been fighting for the base for some time... that sounds pretty intense to me. Imagine how the defenders felt when they were getting whacked by a basically invisible foe (and remember, no tracer fire comes from the gunner!). Suspension of disbelief destroyed, adolescent chuckling on the open channel.

What do you think this sim needs? I think it needs people, and if you run the people out because it becomes painfully obvious there is no way to get a fair shake, it isn't going to be much fun. For now I plan to shell out the money to play... OTOH if I have to wade through the aforementioned behaviors it won't be for long.

about his number of kills... this is a bug himself and I encountered a while back.  Over the course of 16 or so sorties with me flying and himself gunning, himself racked up 43 or 44 kills.  It's a bug w/ the sortie count not being reset at the end of a sortie, even if you land it normally.

Dolomite-
You make a valid point about "whining". People have a right to express their views and shouldn't be flamed for a valid post (although the tone of a post can invite a rather pyrotechnic reply). In this particular case, I believe both parties deserve some of the blame for heating this post up.

As long as we're getting technical about the vocabulary, though, you should know that I disagree with your use of the phrase "a cheat". If a Buf gunner realizes that he has a powerful gun once he gets on the ground, it is inevitable that he's going to try to use it. This is not a cheat. This is using available tools in a war game. It is now time to discuss whether this is a good idea to give a ground troop such a bad-assed weapon. My personal view is that this is too much firepower for a ground pounder, but that's just my opinion. What we should be doing here is discussing whether such a gun should be allowed in future versions of the game, when it originates from a bailed gunner.

Happy flying-

The folks at HTC have been dealing with cheating in every form there is for years. By the time AH comes out of beta im confident that none of this will come up. And they have given us a great tool with the recorder. If a few people film a guy doing the same thing. Ive no doubt the HTC crew will know what he,s up to in a glance. Lets let them build it first, then you can ware that finger out pointing at the other guy.

For the time being the only known cheaters are P51 pilots .

Gentleman,
It was 4 am in the morning when this occured and I stayed up all night playing Aces High. I also had consumed a bit of wine and my decision making may have been hampered. I remember having a great time and we were all tauning and talkin trash. I admited getting shot down by you, bailing and walking to the end of the runway with Joemud as my gunner. At the time it was very, very funny and as I recall we were taunting and you were taunting back. There were only about 28 or 30 of us on at the time and you had us outnumbered. I guess we should never push the limits, have fun and goof off! This is serious business at 4 am in the morning! Call it what you want and from your point of view I am  guilty as charged! I have a lighter slant and saw it as having fun the day after christmas. I have it all on tape and reviewed it too. I won't do it any more.. I am sorry we had so much fun at your expense! I will try and restain myself in the future.

Thunder-

I don't have a problem with you personally, only the behavior. I apologize for taking this thread anywhere near a personal level, I was trying a bit too hard to make a point.

Sorry for the sanctimonious part too; guess I do take this too seriously.   Saw you on last night, even helped clear your 6 a few times. No hard feelings!

Dolomite,
Thanks for your post. I had fun last night and thanks for covering my six   No hard feelings on my part either. The more we all fly with each other the more we will know we fly and see what we are really about. I look forward to flying with you in the future. Again, you won't see me walking to the end of a runway again.

Salute,

JoeMud.....
Judging from my limited contact with you, you are not the type of person with sympathy, empathy, nor consideration for the other guy.  Of course, I said that in flight.  Now, all these posts confirm that feeling.  I feel sorry for you.
I am an Air Warrior dweeb, from the classic days, 1996-a newbie.  I was fortunate to be selected as a "closed" beta tester for Air Warrior III.  I flew AW3 and AW2 and Classic until my eyes were tired.  I guess that you have never flown a beta, or ever thought to help someone-if asked. Of course, I can be wrong, but your attitude to the new folks is less than zero.  You won't give folks a chance!  This flight SIM has real potential.  Please HELP make it work.  Don't run off the people who will generate the income to make it a success. I hope that I am not stomping on your toes-to badly, but consider your "first" flight.  Your first question.....
Just because you now have the ability to kill 43 pilots with a cheat, how about finding a "NEW" one.  The old one is lame-like you.  If you want to contribute, spend 3 hours flying in a circle, thru clouds and press every button.....then you can have a claim to fame.  Folks that can't invite new folks without ridicule and shame, aren't worthy-IMO.  But then, I only flew AW.  I am not a pilot or even a trainer for our squad.  I just like the competition and the friendships formed.  If you have a problem with this, so be it.  There are other folks who rile me too.  Especially the dweeb who keeps checklists on the SIM to see how real it is......he needs to chill or leave too.  Constructive criticism should be welcomed, but what you and he are doing is destructive.  Get a life!
