How about make the 262 engines prone to flame outs IF you throttle up/down too fast? Maybe not in the MA as it might piss alot of people off but maybe for ToD?

Well yes Havoc however I wouldn't go as to be as drastic as to have the whole engine catch fire, just flame out (engine dies) :)

doesn't that fall under "engine management"?

I love the way the jet exhaust looks on IL2:FB also when you go full thrust... Hot blue flame! Yeah baby! Yeah!

But I love even more putting the throttle to the firewall, letting the Jumos spin up until they are about to shred, then slammin the throttle back to zero... PPPOOOOOOFFFFFF!!!

It would be excellent revenge for those UBER-pilots who fly em all the time.  Try to cut throttle to fast to turn and kill me, and suddenly two giant flame trails spewing out of the back of their 262!

Flame outs and increased difficulty due to engine management would be great - if that were the case, the perk points could even be lowered to as low as around 80~100 - the limitations in sudden throttle movement will greatly limit the way 262 can be used.

Add to that the overheating problems the 262 faces when engaging full throttle at low speed - and effectively the 262 might not need a perk at all!

Most FB/AEP MP games feature full plane sets, and yet the YP-80s, 262s, 162s and Go229s are hugely unpopular because of such difficulties residing in early jet planes..

Was it possible to restart the engines in flight after a flame out? J/W. Whenever I fly the 262/234, I always do throttle controls smooth and dont cut back and whatnot, so the flame-out seems cool to me. But if by accident, lol you did get an engine to fart out, would it be possible to restart, was it possible in real life? I dont know too much about early jet power, lol.

I believe they were POSSIBLE (not likely though) to re-start if I remember correct from what I have read. Can't remember what was needed though in terms of speed, alt and other conditions.

VV Fester, speed is what it's there for.

Might need to slow down when landing though...
