Personally, I don't think it's the stuff you pull out that counts so much as the intention of removing something from your nose, with your finger.

I'm a picker, I live in dusty, crusty, dry AZ.. I crawled under my desk a while back to reposition some cords. Had a flashlight w/ me and looked up at the bottom of the desk, what I saw there really grossed me out. I keep a box of tissues at the desk now.
