Thanks for all the advice.

As far as my route is concerned i think i will head up the pacific coast with a few detours (maybe vegas

) and end up in vancouver.

I'm still in 2 minds about hitching it but in NZ it was a piece of cake (took me less time than the bus in some cases) I will have to see how i feel when i get to the US.

Any more tips? Let me know.

Also I believe hitch hiking is illegal in California, but not sure about it.

Naso coastal areas as far as hitch hiking goes is some what safe cause there are rich people and people around in general!

Stick your prettythang in the middle of Wyoming or Iowa where theres nothing but open field and corn rows ...............Lets just say the REAL freaks are on the inside! (not along the coast as alot think) is the guy on the coast banging the sheep or the guy in Iowa?
