NoPoop, you know the chilly weather that starts around October?  If you will just buy a computer for each room, AMD equipped, why you won't have to turn the heating on all year!

Even better, you know how you always end up with the old motherboard & processor as junk?  They're just setting there in the corner?  Right?

Well, with AMD you can organize street parties.  That's right, just remove the cooling fan from the cpu, plug it in and watch the action!

In seconds, it will melt through the motherboard with an incredible burst of fire. Dude, they're radiant.

So yeah, buy AMD if you're too poor to pay a heating bill.  The thoughtful, discriminating buyer always chooses intel.

My current rig is an AMD. With the bigger processors now I don't like the heat. The one I built a couple of years ago had enough of it.

P4 is gonna run around the same temp. Hot enough for me. Never got into the overclocking hobby. I just like the sound of lotsa fans.

Turns out my current one fired up. Memory stick had a bad connect. Still have a bad hard drive, Internet explorer is corrupt, can't get on line..

So I'm going to download my stuff, put a new hard drive in it and pass it down the line.  Oh boy, more money...

Need a new flight gear setup...

I see you got the Antec power supply ... did you get an Antec case too ? I got the server case ... 7 fans in total and every one of the is filled with an Antec fan, with the exception of the side panel fan.

Also, I got the Thermaltake SubZero4G™ Microprocessor-controlled Thermo-electric Cooling Systems. ThermalTake SubZero4G Socket 478 ... $129.00 ... it also comes with a case fan that I stuck in my side panel. It glows ...

Typical ... CPU temp is 84 F and Case temp is 82 F.

When in AH, the graphics start to drive the heat up, so the SubZero kicks in to high gear, and also kicks up the fan on the side panel and ocilates the glowing fan to indicate that it is working overtime.

Playing AH ... CPU temp just to like 110F and Case temp jumps into the 90s.

Don't let curly frighten you. AMDs do run hot. That's why they come supplied with a heatsink/cooling fan. (My XP2600 retail version did) But so what? I have three case fans providing crossflow ventilation of my case. The motherboard is pretty much at room temp, and the CPU is at 45°C.

For about two years, I had an Athlon 1.2GHz which was cooped up in a badly ventilated case designed for a P2-266 from 1997. It ran uncomplainingly at 67°C!!! So as for my current model running at 45°C, I see no problem at all.

Some like it hot!
