And would it not be a flight simulator regardless of what else is going on?  It does simulate flight, and tries to do it as accurately as possible.

I'm glad you were able to clear up this distinction for yourself in this thread.

Right an air combat simulation with 1993 quake pork and frag gameplay

Maybe you misunderstood the point of this game?  You seem to actually complain about the very point of the game... an air combat simulation using World War II planes which is not, in fact, a World War II simulation.

It's unfortunate that the game does not meet your standards for enjoyment.  Perhaps the next game you play meets those requirements.

My problem is that I started playing this game 3 years ago when there would maybe be 200 players max in the arena.  Strategy was a key element of the game, furballs happened every now and then but usually was confined to map resets.  In those 3 years I can only remember 3 maybe 4 max gameplay changes.  The first being that bombers could no longer "carbomb" on the runways (ord used to be enabled on runways, and this was a surefire way to stop a vulch), towns were added instead of just porking a field and drooping troops on the runway.  The third being the addition of a few planes here and their and larger maps.

This new map seems to be nothing but a bone thrown out to us who are salivating to have something new come our way.  No news on when AH2 is coming out let alone the much touted AH2 TOD with all new gameplay etc, its been close to a year if not over since HTC announced it was going to develop AH2 classic and AH2 TOD concurrently.  And by the looks of it its going to be quite some time before AH2 classic is out and lord knows how long before AH2 TOD comes out, which would be the 1st significant change in  stale outdated gameplay in over 5-6 years I like this game alot but the delay of any significant gameplay is troublesome to say the least.

I just wish that you guys were not so quick to hump HTC's leg and just think about how stale this game has become.  I would love to see a ratio of how many of HTC's loyal customers of 1-2 years have cancelled their accounts in the past year vs. the # of new accounts that have paid and stayed. I know personally of at least 10 squads that have disbanded and 30-50 players that no longer play because the gameplay is so dated that they no longer found it reasonable to pay $14.99/month and dont plan on coming back till AH2 is released.

Um.  I've been around since the beta, and I witnessed exactly the opposite.  Three years ago, furballs were the norm and strategy was a prevalent but secondary element of the game.

The game must be doing its job if we come to such utterly different conclusions.

Or perhaps we could agree to disagree that you are a malcontented idiot with little to contribute to the game and even less to contribute to the community.

Frankly, I'm not surprised that you were incapable of grasping the actual point of this game and then later attempting to claim some sort of inherent (and flawed) knowledge due to seniority.  You seem to make a habit of being wrong.

well i dont know wht i was thinking when i thought it would be cool to combine a tank town and a furball town and see the chaos that ensued there.

i guess its just to confusing and scary.
better remove the whle island and force everyone to fly on other parts of the map.

pfunct...  I have played this game a long time too and I find that it used to be a lot more furball oriented and a lot more fun..  there were less timid, girly sky accountants back then.

I think the mayhem factor on one tinyu little part of the map that fester gave us is far from world ending but...

I don't see the problem... if "everyone" is "quakeing" then you should be king if you fly timidly in the fastest planes and milkrun to your timid little hearts content.   Much better than posting here and looking like a small child.
