Crash/red-out problem?
«

Was in a tasty little furball and let myself get a little lower and slower than xmab's nic... and he ran me down; plucked of my wings and watched me auger from 2k up.
I was definitly shot down.. didn't bail; and the plane went thru some further gyrations and break up on impact at 45 degrees and 400mph. Certainly; I shoulda been dead on impact.
My screen went red... when the nasty crash noises stopped my engine was still running so I killed it. Screen still red. I waited for better than a minute.. still no death. Red screen.
Finally I hit .ef and got 'you have ditched"
Anybody else seein this?

This happened to me, but offline. I was holding the brakes while throttling up and the plane broke and flipped over, engine still running, red screen...I couldn't figure out how to get out of it, so I rebooted!

Hang....
I have experienced very similar problem, under exactly same conditions. Swinging too low during evasives, can't quite pull out, belly flop and die with red screen, except it locks my comp up totally, requiring reboot. This ONLY happens under these circumstances, which thankfully has been rare, but is almost guaranteed to happen under these specific conditions. Dunno what the prob is, but glad to hear it's not just my imagination.

Happened to me just tonight..
was low and fast in f4u.
Wing went away, I rolled over and plowed a furrow..
Screen stayed red....
used .ef and returned to field with a ditch message..
seems that earlier in the Beta there was a problem with landing on your canopy, this would happen regularly. Did so for me on several occasions...
1st I've seen of this since like ver.40 or so....

the problem is its not the speed that kills its the sudden stop, and in AH we have soft smooth ground upon which to auger and live as far as the eye can see
hehe grey that was me that took your wings and watched you roll around and exit alive from the remains of an f4u

Same thing with me last nite in a P-38, low speed ground impact then red screen, .ef then a ditched response.

Happened to me last night in a P-51. I could alt-tab out of AH, but nothing else worked. Eventually had to reboot.

Same here, but when it happens to me, its locked up. Nothing, notta works, have to hard boot the system.
I now bail if Im headed straight down to avoid this problem.
Anyone else getting the prolonged blackout? When ur pulling extended Gs and go black and and hit something, like the ground. Replane, OTR and its still black for up to 30 secs? Thought I lost the video drivers 1st time it happened.

As a matter of fact, Hang, it has happened to me as well. Ever since version 1.0, I've gotten the same type of lock up (6 times).
Oh, btw, I wanted to ensure that you knew that I did not intend to accuse you of alt F4ing. It all just seemed a little wierd and I only 'thought' that may have happened
Thanks for the explanation.
Till we meet again...

Just happened to me too in a P-51... glided in from 15,000ft, killed a P38, lined up for runway, bit too fast, undercarriage collapsed and then all red. Had to alt tab to windows and close AH.
