Although the idea of getting the Panavia Tornado is attractive; remembering the external view from the air-combat simulation 'Tornado' (still the best mission-planning functionality I've seen), being able to come booming over a runway right as a mission takes off, my JP233 submunitions pod dumping mines and runway-cratering bombs in all directions, brings a certain warm feeling to my heart. You can only approximate it with the internal load of 50kg bombs on a Ju-88 formation or 100-lb bombs on a B-17 formation... tracking fourteen 1,000-lb bombs down a runway with a Lancaster just seems like overkill that way...  :D

I can't see how the P-80 should be included: it was never operational in WWII: a few were in Italy for evaluation purposes. If we get  into that realm then we end up with Hawker Furies and  ultimately all the Luft '46 as well and we enter total fantasy land.

The Meteor was the only operational allied jet during WWII and I'd like to see it included at some point.

From my point of view there are only three jets that are appropriate to include in AH that are not already in AH.

The He162, Meteor Mk I and Meteor Mk III.

The Meteor Mk I is useless, IMHO, and that leaves only the He162 and Meteor Mk III.

I know this thread is a joke to post pictures, but...

Buzz Bombs....

It would be cool to intercept V-1 Buzz Bombs and flip them into a spin....  what's the chance on getting them?

Wil, my short list above was based on the fact that using parts from existing aircraft to build a new one is faster than building a whole new AC from scratch. Pyro said this in an Fw-190 thread from some years ago when someone asked about the Ta-152. Some of the AC you listed though have no model in AH that you could scavage for parts.

So Flakbait? I had no intention to only have existing planes (variatns) on my list. Those are the planes I want most, doesn't matter wether they have variants in the game or not.

No need to point out which ones we don't have or have as I am very familiar with it and as I've flown AH for a long time.

And I do know that your short list was based on planes we already have, but like I said, I had no intentions to do that.

Just my $.02, but we need the 190A-3 more than any of those later 190 planes. Japan, Italy, and Russia, in that order are the countries that most need new planes added IMO. The big 3 (US, UK, Germany) even though there are more planes needed for them, for right now they have plenty.

...we have a terrain editor.
...why not an aircraft design tool?

Granted Fester may be the only person who models new aircraft but then again he should get promoted to Honorary HT employee anyway.

That way we can biatch and moan about the new models people put out instead of the new maps.

A future whine topic has been recorded ... :lol
