Our CV was so close to their field that I was worried about waves of ju88s/LANC at 300'. Hence the 1C, otherwise I'll fly the 1D or F6F. The scales tipped in our favour - this was actually a 3-way fight with Knits having to tackle Bish LVTs on shore as well as us rooks. Because in effect the "fields had been moved closer together", neither side had much opportunity to gain height. It was all at the deck. After 3 sorties of this I got bored and left. (AH political correctness forbids me from saying how many kills I got)

Anyway, MiniD - the point is not what I was doing but what the knits were doing in light of Sailor's post.

So... it's OK for you to losely justify using a perk plane because it was best suited for the situation while criticizing others for using the plane best suited for the situation they were in?

Well that's a good point, but remember - off the CV our choices are limited: F4F/F6F/F4U(3)/Seafire/Zeke - have I missed any fighters? I could have got all the kills I got in a 1D. The LANC/ju88 divebombers never arrived.

And I wasn't so much complaining about the knits. Those three sorties really boosted my stats against Spit/LA7 (T49). I posted here to show that knits are no different from Bish and Rook, because sailor seemed to think that only Bish and Rook mounted a LA7 (&Spit) defence.

What's even funnier is that you guys tell me that repeatedly, and I have to remind you that said perkage predates my entry into AH. I'm not interested in ancient history. As I said, I could have got all my kills in a 1D as it turns out. I don't have any data and have done no tests, but the 1D seems to fly better than the 1C.

If you're talking about my 1C, that is not a relevant fact. This thread is/was about the way rooks/bish resort to LA7s. I provided evidence to show that knits are no different. Those scenes above would have existed whether I had been flying zeke, F6F or Seafire. Indeed, that scenario would have been going on even if I hadn't been there at all.

Now, did you say something about "relevant fact"?

It's fully understood that rooks will lame it up at all chances given.

Fair enough. I accept all that. And my initial reply is about the fact that the Knits are no different. I often fly a Rook F4U1C, but I'm sure that Bish & Knits also "lame it up" (lol!) in a F4U1C - I don't think I'm the only person that flies it.

That's ok Morph, Beet is more interesting than some tard whining about various countries. He's got a whine about both rooks and bish in here. Maybe our thread starter is a noob. When I first started, I thought one country was better than the others...had a friendlier group etc. Took me some time in each country to realize that all are about the same.

I'm not whining because the Bishops are upping La7's. I'm whining because I thought I knew the bishops were better then that.
