Rafe, got any info on BuNo numbers that flew in VMF-312? I have only been able to find a handful of photos.
We know about the modex #530 but what was the full number?

F4U-1D BuNo's

50360-50659
57084-57983

Just dont know details of what squadrons they were assigned to.

Howdy, Hawk

Well, I was told that VMF-312 use Vought F4U-1 (early birdcage) and Goodyear FG-1A as PreOperational training in 1943 before they enter the combat, but that might not be true what they fly.  Mostly I know that VMF-312 was recieve 24 Goodyear Corsair and also another 24 from Vought Corsair in either early 1944 or spring 1944.  Mostly got killed by accident or MIA and couple pilots was killed during WWII.  I was still looking for Major Richard Day's Corsair Bu No, but it might be 760 or 770 and I still looking for the right Bu No.

FG-1D "Goodyear Corsair" Bu No.

76149/76739   FG-1D (76450 to FG-3)
87788/88453   FG-1D
92007/93701   FG-1D

So, I'll look up some files of F4U-1D and FG-1D Bu No and see what I can do for you.  I'll let you know and if i find anything, I'll post it here.
