Did you know that in the 90's model (this may not apply to newer models as I have not researched them) that the F250 HD with a Camper package has the same suspension as the F350?  I didn't know that til a dealer showed me a leaf spring set up on two of them side by side.

Good luck on your purchase, take your time, you'll find a deal. Took me 7 months to find a good deal..

I want the older body style. I think the new ones came out in 97-98

Rip, stick to posting crap about BMWs. Your pic of the specialized X-2 RX8 is insulting among the other cars in this thread.

No offense, but a Focus is a whoopee grocery getter, at least here in the US. Anyone who thinks otherwise and wastes money on modding it so it can maybe play with the big boys is just throwing the cash away. You could drop the biggest snail you could find in that car, and you'd still be eating dust at a road course. The suspension and weight ratio is all wrong.

Zs are nice, too bad Nissan didn't realize a factory turboed model. Probably soon. Greddy makes a kit supposedly that our club Z owner is planning on getting before the summer.

It's getting pathetic how some companies are releasing 2stupid2mention versions of cars. it's feeding a rising industry of retarded kids who think adding a huge wing and exhaust makes you a real race car driver (or even worse, drifter!)

Funked, where you at in CA? I was just in LA, might be moving to Laguna Beach soon.

Are they selling RS or ST170 versions in U.S ?
Also we can expect that Focus Cosworth is having similar power as Lancer Evo's and Subary STi's are having, +/-300hp and +500Nm torque in a 1300kg car... gonna be sweet car... wish I could afford one :)

I thought the Ford Focus ZFX was supposed to be the cat's meow in small economy cars; grocery-getter by day, pink-slip-getter by night.

Didn't the Focus win some WRC races?

AFAIK the most powerful stateside Focus is the SVT (unless they run a bunch of these Saleen ones)

An 'aquaintence' has one. Thinks it's badass but I've been in the car when it's 'pulled' and it just doesnt feel the same. I do agree that some of the models of Focus Europe has are plain nasty, and if those come over i'll take back what i said... but until then :p

Body style is a second thought to me, functionality is first and foremost, but I *do* agree, I like the older, squarish look.
I think it was 98' they changes??  Here is my '97,:

btw, there are some basic ECU remaps I read about in RxTuner that brings the Rx-8 back to about 195 or so to the wheels. stock people were seeing around the high 160s-170s. the fuel mapping is incredibly rich on the stock ECU after 6000rpm, which is when the 3rd intake ports open on the renesis. instead of seeing a gain in power, they were seeing a drop as the AF ratio went richer the 10:1. (my turboed 13B is tuned at 11:1, so the rx8 maps are waay off)

most rx8 owners love the car enough to deal with the power issue, plus i'm sure once you open up the intake/exhaust and remap the fuel youd be seeing the 270hp then japanese get from theirs.

i havent heard of mpg issues but it might have to do with that mapping issue
