Once the error had been corrected they did, in fact, determine the ozone layer had been depleted into Northern Canada.
The images were released to the press and quantified by scientists in England as well.
I would not call this one a conspiracy.  NASA had come under the gun as they kept saying the ozone layer was fine and it was not until a research plane had measured increased radiation levels in the North did they pursue why the satellite had not picked up the problem.
It's all been very well documented Gto.

I am afraid that the "tree huggers" already have pointed out some ways to slow global warming, but alas, it does not go too well together with the modern consumption world of us westeners.

Well I'm a keen gardener, and I'm having to plant out about three weeks earlier than I used to in winter/spring. And then you get an unexpeced frost that just kills the annuals. It's a bugger.

Good on the climatologists for finding the problem before it got to bad (hopefully) and for continually updating the info.  But climatologists and polticians shouldn't being trying to fix something that requires engineering and ecomonmic solutions.  When they do you get crap like Kyoto.
