Did you mute the microphone in the Windows Sound Control dialog?

Skuzzy;

I have exactly the same problem. A new Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum sound card/system ... has the front panel insert. It doesn't seem to matter what I do I cannot get consistent use out of the microphone when hooked to the front panel, and it won't work at all when hooked to the back of the computer.

Any insight you can supply at all would be greatly appreciated ... playing the game without VOX really sucks.

Sedgwick.

Yes I did check that... I went through all the usual checks... My squad uses Teamspeak most of the time, and I come in crystal clear on that... just on squad vox I am having the problem.

If you are using the front panel of a Platinum device, I beleive the microphone is not the recording device.  I'll check on my system when I get home tonight, but it seems I recall (doing this from memory so I could be wrong) that I had to set it to the second auxilary device to use the panel with the mic.

Stream, what radio channel are you set to use in the game, for voice?

Honestly Skuzzy I couldn't tell you... I just put in radio 5 as squad... I have never used a number for it...

I use the rear panel inputs instead of the front panel..  should this make a difference?

The inputs could be different when using either the front or rear as the front panel alters the way the hardware assigns the jacks.

I'll check mine out when I get home tonight and see how the inputs are assigned.

You're getting beyond me here ... How do I set it up for the second auxillary device?

In the Windows sound control panel.  You may have to enable the panel to see it, but the front panel of the Platinum SB cards is the second auxiliary recording device.

I checked into that. I can't see where there is an option for a second auxillary recording device, nor can I see where the Platinum Drive (as Creative calls it) is listed anywhere.

I went to Start> Settings> Control Panel> Sounds and Multimedia> Audio Tab

Am I working in the right direction?
