Iraq Tour of Duty's
« on: April 08, 2004, 09:56:39 PM »
Word from the bases - 2nd ACR and a bunch of other's set to rotate back next week after a year have been extended another 3-6 months because of the insurgents.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Its the Japanese WWII strategy - keep them at the front till they're dead, send reinforcements, repeat.

The tour length depends on your service.  Not all units throughout the DoD are on 12 month tours.  Some are there for 90 days, 180 days or 12 months.  Some are even on 45 day rotations.  Just depends on the what service you might be in.
