8 ukranian and russian engineers have been released in few hours after they šave been hijacked. As they reported, terrorists apolgised them for the mistake, called for a taxi and released them after few questions about where do they work and where  from are they...

As known for this moment, french journalist was released too. With appropriate apologies from the unknow terrorist group....

I believe these countries are advising their civilians not to remain in Iraq now.

I guess all Caucasians look alike.

There are 2 nationalities that you really don't want to kidnap:

Russian and Israeli.

Revenge will be anything but civilized.

Sure :( Our beloved goverment employees will scream in anger all over national TV channels, then our wholeheartedly-electred president will say something about toilets and head circumcision for the terrorists, then some bastards like Stomakhin and Novodvorskaya will scream in hysteria about Russian imperialists and bloody heritage of Stalin that makes kidnapping of ethnic Russians and Ukrainians a moral duty of every civilized person.

At the same time Ukrainians will shoot down another airliner with 70 Jews on board.

2 years later the kidnapped Russians will be released because their relatives sold their flats to pay terrorists, and it will be declared another brilliant special-service operation...

I find Israely way much more civilized.

Unfortunately, the times when Soviet government could  "send a document and point missiles at the bastards" are long gone :(

It's partially true, but definetly not in this case.

They know that we never bombed their homes and, more likely, don't have money to pay them.

You obviously don't know why they backed off so suddenly.

During the Iran problem back in the 80's, a bunch of US hostages were taken.

About a quarter way through, some of them got the bright idea to take some Russians hostages.

The russians went into Iran, captured the mother of each terrorist, cut off a hand, held her in captivity and sent the hand and picture of her to the terrorists.

The russian hostages were released right away.

You didn't mention that Russians also barbequed mother's hands and ate them with 200 liters of vodka.

I wonder where do such beautiful myths come from?...
