A Very Good Day here!
« on: April 14, 2004, 11:22:02 AM »
My oldest son arrived back at FT Bragg during the night from his deployment in Iraq.

He is a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.   He went to Iraq just 4 months after finishing his TOD in Afghanistan.

We are very proud of him and very very happy he is back in the United States.  His battalion arrived yesterday and during the night on multiple flights.

Good news indeed!
Please tell him thanks for what he's doing and a HOOAH for getting home to see his family!

Hey Dago!

I had hoped to be the first non-American to post here, but Nilsen has beaten me to it. I know you don't like me very much, but perhaps we can set our differences aside for a brief moment. Double to your son - served in TWO conflicts - in as many years? I don't think any more could be asked of him. WTG, and glad he's home safe.

No-one doubts that the war in Afghanistan was justified. The Iraq war is more controversial. But I think it was justified in the "finishing the job" sense. Gulf War part 2 (after an interval of 12 years).

Regards,
Beet1e - who has never been a military man, but respects those who are.
