A simple Poll on Past Lives
« on: April 16, 2004, 12:05:33 PM »
I was casually flipping through channels last night, when my girlfriend said "Flip to ABC!"

I switched it over and it was a Primetime Thursday Special, The first one was about a boy who was in love with airplanes.
His parents were saying that he was an airplane fanatic at the age of two! He could name airplanes by sight, and seemed to be a very young airplane enthusiast.

It hit very close to home, Because I was the same way when I was young. My first spoken word was "Jet", I used to amaze people my identifying Aircraft everywhere I went.

Except this boy, had a problem with Night terrors, he kept waking up telling his parents, his airplane was on fire and he had to get out!, So his parents under advice by a child psychologist, started to ask him about his dreams.

At the age of three and four, his parents began to piece together young Jame's dreams. His parents asked him how his plane caught fire, he replied "I was shot!" His parents asked "By who?" Young James then rolled his eyes, and scoffed "The Japanese!"

They also noticed that Young James drawings of airplanes were signed "James 3", But when asked by his parents what his name in his dreams were he would say his own name "James", They just thought he didnt understand the question. But when he was asked what airplane he flew, he knew full well that he flew Corsairs, from Aircraft Carriers. They asked him to name the boat he flew from, "Natoma" he replied. His dad began searching for more info and found that the Natoma Bay (CVE-62) was stationed off Okinawa in the Spring of 1945. His dad began to dig further and found out that the only pilot killed on that cruise was James A Huston II. Shot down by Triple A over Okinawa.

I've always beleived in the possibility of Past lives but this story confirmed my belief.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

The nightmares go away after awhile, once in awhile as he grows up he will remember bits and pieces of it, but never as traumatic as the early nightmares he had when a kid. Many years later he will realize what it was that happened and understand what it actually is. but he won't ever tell anyone for fear of being called
a lunatic. It seems to be the moments leading up to a tragic end.

Coincidences are amazing aren't they.

Unfortunately they just prove interesting, nothing else.

Past lives are an enticing romantic notion but I'm with you MT, unconvinced.

Your worlds are flat... others are round.
the cool thing about it is no one really cares if you believe or disbelieve.. Either way life goes on!

Didn't intend to step on your toes. I'd like to believe we all had past lives, just never seen anything other than wishful thinking to convince me of it.

Forgot to point out that since this was a poll I thought what I believed was being asked for.

Intersting stuff, but something I found interesting....

They took the boy to a therapist who believes in and investigates past life experiences first, to treat a child having nightmares.

"Then James' violent nightmares got worse, occurring three and four times a week. Andrea's mother suggested she look into the work of counselor and therapist Carol Bowman, who believes that the dead sometimes can be reborn.

With guidance from Bowman, they began to encourage James to share his memories — and immediately, Andrea says, the nightmares started become less frequent. James was also becoming more articulate about his apparent past, she said."

Perhaps remembering our past lifes is the next step in the evolution of man. A 46 and 2 if you will or the next level of human consciousness. Remembering the past life, your past life, might possibly be the best way to learn and look to the future...
