When are you booking your flight out there tough guy? I'm sure one Swedish judge is worth a thousand Spanish soldiers.

I have to admit, I'm pretty angry at the Spanish government and it's people right now.

They made a commitment to a cause and when they encountered some difficulty, they renegged.

It says something about a country's people.

Ah well, politicians suck.

to the Spanish troops who risked their necks to help.

Also note that they would keep troops there if it was a UN operation.  Anybody have a good reason why Bush shouldn't negotiate a deal to get the UN to help out?

It's not the politicians here, Funker.

They are merely acting on the will of their people, as they should.

Bush has been trying to get the UN in there from day 1.

But lets remember the UN decided to pull out after its HQ was bombed so they likely have security concerns about operating in Iraq.

Same could be said in relation to WW2, Vietnam, Cambodia, pre-Taliban Afghanistan, post-Gulf-War-I Iraq, and so on with regards to the US involvement.

At the end of the day do you really need Spains support? The US can handle it without Spain, and theres probably less complications too.
