Over 20,000 Private Security Iraq

I was amazed at this figure in the news regarding private security personal working in Iraq. Simply because they now make up the second biggest military force in Iraq. With the Coalition Of The Unwilling now coming in third.

this is proof of total shift in military thinking...for exampl:

Even stateside you will see that most "chow halls" are almost entirly manned by civilans.  Civs are cheaper to hire/fire/train than active duty personell.  If a service can Hire contractors to serve the food, the GIs that used to do it can be freed up to do other things IE there numbers shifted to other jobs.

even the US military hires private security contractors.  That way they arent tieing up ground troops, that can be used elsewere, to sit and watch crews dig a trench ect.

the basic thinking is if you dont shoot move communicate or help put bombs on target your job can be done by a contractor for cheaper and makes more GIs available to do the previous.

its all a big numbers game

From what I read it is alot more expensive to hire mercenaries, the good thing about them is they are not accountable for them, they are disposables. They can wash their hands from them any time. I wish I could find that article.

And best of all by far for the governments any casualties don't go towards any KIA records.

Plenty of job opportunities in Iraq right now - most of them with construction companies.

If you can handle the risk, you can make alot of money buildings hospitals, schools, homes, etc.

I saw one company last week was paying plain Jane laborers 5 figures a month to fly over and work.
