Is CH the BEst JoyStic/Pedals/Throtel $$$ can buy?

Kind of a relative term Brady and you will get all sorts of information. If you get a chance to try the CH before you buy it do so. In the past I have used CH and found it to be real good. I just don't like the plastic items and with what has been termed "kid ack" in the house I need my stuff to be a little heavy.

CH makes good gear but I personally like my Thrustmaster Cougar setup because its heavy and the I like the feel of the controls and I am used to the software for building my own stick files. The only major foul up with it was due to the el cheapo pots they used in manufacturing.

I recently sold my Cougar. Now I have a CH Throttle, CH Pedals (which I got with my Cougar) and a Topgun Afterburner stick. This is the best combination I have found so far.

Unless you have very large hands you will find the Cougar AND the CH sticks a stretch to hat switches and second gunbuttons  (I believe they are virtually the same dimensions). Go with Reschke  if you can. Get your hands on one of these before you stump a considerable amount of cash.

My personal opinion is that despite the plastic the CH throttle is a far nicer piece of kit than the Cougar. I have never tried the CH sticks and won't buy one till I can try one, which isn't easy out here in rural Scotland. Online buying is about the only option.

Best..depends on personal preference, I know there are happy Cougar users out there but I've sold mine and went with a full CH setup comprising of a CH USB Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals and never been happier. The sticks are very reliable (still have an old gameport CH Force FX that works fine and is 7 years old). If you do decide to go CH you'll find profiles for Aces High at the site in my sig. There's also forum there that CH tech guys visit who have helped numerous users .

I just ordered a carbon copy of Revvins setup. Everything I've heard has been good. Have been flying an ancient TM flight control system ( for six years ). New toybox with XP. My drivers for the TM system are Win 95 !!

I have NO idea what I'm going to do with all the button options..

Yes, I find the direct x buttons are more than enough for AH and FB.

Yes. If you want quality, CH is the way to go. The only way.


But if you are willing to pay extreme amounts of cash on modifications, then the Cougar is the best set money can buy.

The CH Figherstick feels even better than the Pro Throttle, I can confidently tell you its a safe purchase.

I have had a Full CH set up for about 3 years now, I asked because I was woundering if their was anything better, ty for the info I appricate it.

In my time using the Cougar I have noticed a very small center play starting in the last month or so and it is similar to what I had with CH gear a few years ago. BUT it seems that the Cougar is a "hit or miss" proposition from all the people that you read about either having problems or not within the flight stick community. I honestly think I got one of the misses with Murphy's Law on my stick setup.

The only thing that I really don't like about this setup is the "flat spots" at the 12/6/3/9 positions and the day I get a few dollars saved I will be springing for one of the cheaper mods to eliminate that flat spot problem.

As I said earlier though if you want to get the best feeling on the different controllers then you should wrap your hands around each one.

Tis a shame but the CH Fighterstick is friggen huge... well for me at least.  I am errm a little below average, 5'7" 160lbs, and the CH stick is too big for a desktop placement in my case.

I am told the solution is for me to somehow place the stick off the desk, on a mount or something so it is lower.

On a desktop you will be reaching up to the stick which with a stick this big.. sucks

Never had a chance to see one of these sticks, besides the net, before I bought mine..  wish I had.

Finally have a full CH setup being delivered tomorrow to my neck of the planet (stick, throttle and pedals). Cost me a bundle (over US$500) but if they're as good as everyone says, it is money well spent. Thanks for the link Revvin.

There is an easier way - just take a 1 inch thick piece of pipe cladding and cut a small chamfer to allow your 'pinkie' to get to the button on the back of the stick - instant solution - costs virtually nothing - and if you buy a metre length, it will last you years !!!!!
